The big question.
Ok, so i am more than likely getting a new laptop on account of mine is a snail, so i would like your input:
what should i get?
-mac or pc
-if pc - centrino vs. P4
-brand
-model
-screen size
-min requirements
-whatever you can think of
price is a factor, so i have to think of that as well
now, i have ideas for all of these but i would like to hear some suggestions from other people who may have had experiences both positive and negative with some laptops.
also keep in mind that i run a ton of stuff on my computer, i need somethingfairly very fast.
thanks for the input.

I'd like to enthusiastically suggest a 12" Apple Powerbook bumped up to 1gig of RAM. I have a 12" that's 1.33gighz (current version is 1.5gighz) and 768megs of RAM (mine has 256 built in, the new version has 512 built in standard).
I couldn't be happier with my Powerbook. I really think it's the best laptop experience I could have. I just think OSX makes a great laptop operating system. Especially with so many tools like Expose and Dashboard that help you effectively use the limited screen real-estate inherent in most laptops. That and the fact that it wakes from sleep in less than a second!
Price was a factor when I bought my laptop too, and I really felt that putting some extra money toward the Powerbook was well worth it. You can hit me up on Ocellnuri@hotmail.com if you want to talk on MSN about it more. I'll be happy to answer questions about the Pros and Cons.
If you go PC I'd mirror Ocell and suggest NOTHING more than 1024 RAM. If you can find a good 512 box that you can find another 512 chip for|for cheapter go that rough. I think you'd get 64bit Windows.
Write down all the things you want to do on a computer, everything and post those, that should be a good idea as to what you should need.
Thanks for the input.
yea, my first choice right now is the 12" powerbook with the superdrive, i was looking at upping it to 768 (on the apple store site it says built in ram is only 256, upping it to 768 is 100$ [canadian] and to 1.2gig is like $500 so ill stick with 768) it has bluetooth, which is a must, and hardware wise i think it is pretty good.
my concern would be the lack of software i would have, currently i have no apple computer thus no software... on top of the price of the computer the software costs too much.
if i was going to go with a pc i am in the struggle between a ultra portable one, or a super powerfull one because the ultraportable only have a 1.2 or so ghz centrino processor, i think i need a 2.8 p4 or similar amd64 processor at least.
i think i am going to go to the best buy today and do some comparing (crying due to the lack of apple stores in canada, i think there is one in toronto, but thats too far for a day)
i'm going to second the powerbook mention. i don't have one yet, but i am definitely saving up to buy one. i have played around on several, so i know that it packs more punch than its size would indicate. tiger is a brilliant os, and apple notebooks don't get hot the way pc-based laptops do. that, and they just generally perform so much better than even higher-model pcs.
the apple store at yorkdale here in toronto is a dangerous place for me to walk into, i keep wanting to buy something. worth the trip.
yea, it definitely is worth the trip - but i am going to wait until i am sure so i can just go there and pick some stuff up.
but first i still have to decide which laptop i want (pc or mac).
